Day 2: San José - Arenal

Breakfast. Early departure to La Fortuna, in San Carlos, famous for its majestic Arenal Volcano. Breakfast. Today we will head to the heart of the Pacific Coast, where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches of the region. We will visit the Carara National Park, whose name in the indigenous language Huetar means “River of Lizards.” This park is home to the only transitional forest in the Central Pacific, combining dry and humid forest species. Carara is a world-renowned ornithological destination, known for its rich birdlife. Among the featured species is the Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao), one of the largest birds in Costa Rica and in danger of extinction.
